A big hello to all our new site visitors!!
The numbers are in and it seems that the new look site is going down at storm with Western Scottish enthusiasts from across the UK, and indeed the world.
The good news is that we’re not resting on our laurels and have some more exciting updates planned for the forthcoming weeks and months.
Photo Galleries
Due to issues with our photographs being stolen from the site it was necessary to password protect our photo galleries. Our photographs are a collection of slides and pics either purchased by ourselves, donated to us by kind hearted enthusiasts or reproduced (with specific instructions on copyright) with permission from the original photographers.
Clearly that trust was broken and we had no choice but to restrict access to the galleries. Site visitors can now request a password for our galleries however please note that the password WILL be changed if any further images appear on other websites or social media. Ultimately it may be necessary to delete the galleries entirely, although we sincerely hope that this isn’t necessary.
Western Scottish Fleetlist
We’ve made some changes to the fleetlist and have began preparing each individual vehicle record for updating with a wealth of data including purchase / entered service / withdrawal / sold information, depot allocations, repaints, re-registrations, re-numberings, re-seating and loads more. Thanks for your patience whilst these updates are carried out.
A massive thank you to Gordon Bain from the Western Enthusiasts Club, Colin Devine and Robbie Inglis for helping so much in sourcing all the necessary information to make the fleetlist possible. It really is appreciated chaps.
Historic Western Scottish Articles
For many, many years we were proud members (and contributors) of the Western Enthusiasts club. Each couple of months we eagerly awaited the latest newsletter arriving through the post and were never disappointed in it’s content and informative fleet news.
We are absolutely over the moon to report that we have been authorised to reproduce certain historic Western Enthusiast Club articles and features covering the Western Scottish period of the club (June 1985 and July 1994).
Keep checking the site often for the articles as they really are a stunning insight into Western Scottish and it’s south west Scotland operations.
We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Gordon Bain, Gary Ward and all the other hard working club management members for allowing us to share your work with fellow enthusiasts.
So that covers the latest news but, as always, if anyone has any ideas or feedback for the site please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
